I think it is carbide tipped. I did some research for you and the DW3123 looks like your best bet for cutting hardwood. You certainly don&#039;t want to use a really expensive fine woodworking blade to cut firewood.

Keep the DW3123 clean and you will be amazed at how long it stays sharp.
